Bruce Lee's Workout is based on Bruce Lee's many workout's during his career, some of which have not been well documented alas. He did however keep records of some of his best workouts and this article will show you which Bruce Lee Workout is the best.

Bruce Lee read many books on workout and fitness and he also came up with original workouts. Some of his early workouts are rooted in Tai Chin and are isometric exercises. He realized early on the key to building muscle was to keep adding stress to your muscles. Here is a sample of his weight training workout.

Barbell Squat

This is his most important compound workout that helps to develop a solid base or core. Grip a barbell at shoulder distance and lift if over your head and place it on your shoulders. Then begin to squat steadily. Bruce Lee advised that there should not be any pause at the bottom of the squat and one should stand back up immediately as soon as your thighs are at a horizontal position. Do 2 sets of 12 reps for maximum muscle gain.

Barbell Pullover

This is a workout that's less common these days. Lie down on a bench and grab a barbell at shoulder distance apart. Now slowly extend the weight back above your head, elbows slightly bent. Bruce could touch the floor behind his head and bring the barbell back up to the starting position. Do 2 sets of 8 reps for best results.

Bench Press

Every weight training session should include a bench press, said Bruce Lee. Some martial artists advice against bench press because it expands the chest and gives a wider target area. Bruce Lee how ever said that one needs to toughen up one's chest and the bench press did just that. Don't do too many bench presses if you plan on fighting professionally though since a very wide chest can be a disadvantage. Bruce Lee Workout states that you should do enough to gain muscle and toughen up your chest. 2 sets of 8 reps is the max.
